Students do well when they practice charts over and over as part of retrieval practice.
They must also avoid studying the words in isolation. This map shows connections between areas.

Questioning is an important part of deep-processing. The chart helps students answer

Name and describe the functions for the parts of the brain stem?
Name the four lobes and give a function for each?
What does the cerebellum do and where is it located?
What does the motor cortex do and where is it located?
What does the sensory [somatosensory] cortex do and where is it located?
Where is Broca's area and what is its function?
Where is Wernicke's area and what is its function?

When I first teach students this chart, I show them Michael Britt's MNEMONICS either on youtubeor psychfiles
